photographic archives

After being recently reordered and partially catalogued, the photographic archives of the Barigozzi Bros. Company conserves a rich heritage of over 1500 items among positives and negatives, some of which referring the names of prestigious photographers. Produced between the end of XIX and the sixties of XX century, this images show the work atmosphere, focusing on different steps and operations, the finished production before it could leave the foundry, and finally joyful ceremonies taking place during the transport, the blessing and the installation of bells onto the churches for which they where destined. Those unrevealed testimonies are guiding us to less known aspects of this art, with pictures of sculptors posing near their creations or at the work inside the foundry spaces.
